Simoniz worth the money?
I signed papers today and saw my 128i for the first time. The finance guy obviously tried to sell me everything under the sun.
The only thing that interested me at all was the Simoniz treatment for $895, which seems like waaay too much but they claim in protects your car's paint job for 7 years. Is it worth it or is there another product I can apply myself for much less? I have Carbon Black Metallic by the way. |

Even better,
Clay bar, polish enhencer, sealer, and carnauba wax on top. Wash the car with a good soap that contains carnauba wax, and your are good for close to a year.

If you're not into polishing and waxing/sealing your car, you could look into having a detailer in your area apply Opticoat 2.0 on your paint. It would be much less than $895.

+1 to the last two posts.
If you are into detailing on your own (I am), you can get great results, and the satisfaction of doing it yourself. If you are not into that, or don't have the time, finding a good detailer who is well-versed in Opti-Coat would be a very good alternative. I've seen a lot of detailing products come and go, but Opti-Coat certainly seems like the real deal, in terms of having both great protection and good looks. |

Listen..... if you really want to preserve your car. use Swissvax.... It's the only stuff i use. I polish and re-wax every 6 months. makes the car's paint really pop too!

CQuartz is a good alternative to Opti-coat. I put it on my last ride and it was great. Endured a cross country drive (Washington state to Rhode Island). A winter in Chicago, hurricane sandy, and another winter on the east coast which included frozen salt spray on my car. Water still beaded like a champ and I believe it greatly scratches/swirls. Nano coats are expensive but can be great if you can't wax and polish your car as often as you would like. I used to detail cars as a side job, but when the Navy moved me to the east coast and I had to trade my house with garage for an apartment complex I lost the luxury of detailing my car as often as I like to do. Hence the Cquartz.

They tried to sell that for my wife's CX9 and I did some research back them (3 years ago), could not find ANY reviews about people who actually bought it and testified about how it is in the real world, all I could find were posts of this kind asking if it is any good, but no comments from real users. I'd stay away from it, sounds like another dealer scam.

I clay and use Klasse every six months, the car always looks wet. Klasse is extremely easy to use with a machine or by hand.
