The intake "extra injector" for Toyotas is not to clean the valve although that is an added benefit. Toyota found that normal injection is more effective at high RPMs than direct injection so they incorporated both....for gas mileage/motor efficiency. Real research with piston crown shape, valve timing, and gasoline quality has proved intake valve tulip deposits can be controlled and in some cases made a non issue but at the expense of efficiency. Those who think gasoline quality has nothing to do with the deposits are mistaken. Evaluation of those deposits prove that a good part of it can only come from gasoline.
