Help with N55 Exhaust

Hey guys! I just purchased one of the last manual 135i's in California and I'm very excited to start modding! First of, it's a 2013 space grey with coral interior, which is an amazing combination in my opinion! I love the car so far. 600 miles on the car and I already have a VRSF downpipe with a BMS intake! This modding is going to be a problem. Haha. But anyways, back to my concern on the exhaust. I have a catless downpipe right now and I will be going to do a custom exhaust. I would like to delete the res and muffler so I have a full straight pipe. I know it's going to be loud, louder the better! Lol. But I'm just concerned about it getting raspy! I really don't want any rasp in this exhaust set up I'm thinking. Has anyone gone full straight pipe? Or if you know someone that has. Anything will help! Thank you guys in advance!

I have the BMS downpipe and PE resonator delete.. Tried this setup with the Berk muffler delete and it was awful! lol. Waaaay too frickin loud, and the drone is almost unbearable. Only lasted 1 day for me haha. To answer your question though, no rasp at all. I couldn't even tell what it sounded like due to the horrible drone, but my friend said it sounded like a sexy orgasm when I flew past him Hope this helps! (stock muffler rocks)

Haha to be honest; I don't care if it's too loud or not! I just don't want rasp! Haha thank you for your review !

Cold start absolutely ugly and loud. Once it gets hot it sounds pretty nice, not disgusting or anything. I'd like to hear what a straight 3 or 3.5 inch turbo-back would sound like on this thing.. Probably pretty sick, maybe with a small resonator under the cabin somewhere. Maybe some day

A local guy on Craigslist is selling his straight pipe quad exhaust with a diffuser for a steal. I think I'll be picking it up. It's a full straight pipe coming from his downpipe with separate piping to the tips, with a x pipe. I wonder how it'll sound with that. He said it's a 2 3/4 pipping. I want to pick it up but I'm scared it'll sound bad! What do you think?

Hmm.. Not sure on the X-pipe. I know on E36es, which have a similar exhaust setup, they sound awesome with x-pipes. Don't think I've ever heard a 1er with one. It's hard to come by exhaust vids of E82 N55's, mostly N54 which have a distinctly different tone. I think I've seen just about every 1er exhaust clip on YouTube haha

Haha yeah I've seen a lot of YouTube videos and mostly they are all n54's. Or just a n55 with a downpipe which I have now. It doesn't sound too bad. It's a little raspy but the pop is amazing on a shift around 4.5k! Haha

I have a BMS downpipe, custom 2.5" midpipes with magnaflow resonators and had a 3" muffler delete for a while (I put a muffler back on).
Cold start was truly awful, super loud and ugly sounding. You can get around that by holding the revs around 2000rpm until it's finished.
Weirdly I had zero drone and I don't think it was too loud when puttering about in traffic.
It was pretty damn loud when you got on it and it could make some weird raspy noises when quickly getting on/off the throttle.
I have no sound on this comp but I think this video is with the that exhaust set up
