Everyone check your insurance policies and see how much it is to max out your coverage. I go with GEICO (no opinions, please) and they have a little widget on their website where you can toy around with these values and see how that impacts your premium.
I discovered they were padding my policy with some stuff I didn't need (breakdown insurance, roadside assistance) so I killed them and and was able to insure the f$ck out of myself for about the same $$$. It's cheap. I have moderate assets, including a well-funded IRA. How many of you own a house or some nice Facebook stock? You're putting it all on the line. Jus' saying. My stomach hurts after seeing that photo. Hope you had gap insurance to cover the diference should there be any in the price of the car and what you owe. Also make sure you get a good personel injury lawyer immediately. The same thing happended to my daughter in her Mini Cooper S. Sorry for your loss but glad your ok.

Texas has too many of them.
Glad to know your OK but it suck that the car was totaled after only two weeks of ownership. Those Germans sure know how to build safe cars. My first car (not a BMW) was totaled by an SUV. I also have State Farm and got a check from them for the full value of the car.

I guess that's like 30k per car, for 3 cars? so a 100k 3rd party liability?
I'd say a million is pretty much minimum. The premium doesn't go up too much here up north for extra coverage.

I hope it is totaled .. because she will never drive like before, if they tried to fix her.

30k? that's crazy. You can incur 30k of bills from hitting a bike... Medical is what I'm talking about here. an odd Mil or 2 isn't crazy when it come sot medical bills.

I have no clue why someone would have that kind of coverage. I'm sure that state farm will be suing them for their money. I know i have 2,500 of personal injury insurance but I think some of it is covered by my normal policy too. |

Imagine permenantly disabling someone due to an accident. That bill is going to be astronomical.

I'm sorry about your new car and the accident. Glad you're ok but that car is 100% totaled. Make sure to get another 135i! don't let this random event change your mind. 1ers are great

I just wanted to let everyone know that state farm paid me more than what I paid for the car and that I just purchased a 2012 135i from one of the forum members. So everything worked out perfectly.

Gosh that makes me cringe. Glad you're okay dude - accidents suck, even when you're not at fault, you're still losing out.. Hopefully you get everything sorted out right and you get yourself back into something as awesome!
