those who wrapped roof with vinyl, chime in!

i'm thinking of wrapping my roof with 3m di-noc and was wondering:

1. how much material did you guys use?
2. how do you take off the shark fin?
3. is there a hole where the shark fin is at? i heard there wasn't.

1) Don't recall how much material I used...
2) Floss around the outside shark fin "cap" Once the cap is off, there is an actual internal "fin" that is bolted to the roof, just unscrew the bolt & the internal "fin" comes of.
3) Yes there is a hole for the wires & screw hole under all of that.

I was thinking of buying a spare shark fin, to wrap ahead of time. I think wrapping that fin will be the hardest part of the roof wrap job!

65206955555 $54.55 non-painted part. Bmw wants another cool c-note($100) to paint that fin!!!

I think two yards wll be more than enough to "wrap" the roof.

From what I have seen on the web... most places sell this stuff by the yard and four feet wide. I saw one place that had a really long roll (20 yards by 4 feet) for $370.

Don't ask me where... bc I can not remember! lol It was one of the 3M supply sites that sels the DiNoc stuff. They had shown how to wrap your refrigderator too! Kind of cool. Seems people are using this fake CF as a home decorating accents. My kind of house!

I think having some "left overs" would be cool to wrap your laptop or other small electronic bits.

http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/ sell 3m di-noc in all different sizes. It looks pretty simple. Just lay it on there, heat it up, squeeze the bubbles out, cut the edges, done.
