Yeah I have them here too. I did go with the tow hook mount though.
I had a front plate in Germany too, that was attached with 3M tape. |

I took delivery of a new BMW without a front plate -- my salesman said he thought it looked better without the front plate and told me to "tell the cops the mounting bracket for a front plate is on order at the dealership".
I went 14 years like that, only putting it on temporarily each year for state inspections. Never got a ticket, even when I was pulled over for speeding (5 times IIRC), no one ever noticed. Since my 135i already had the bracket installed, I just gave in and put the plate on... I haven't looked at the front bumper closely, can the front bracket be removed cleanly, or does it leave mounting holes in the bumper? The tow hook front plate is a great idea. |

....or you could have been me. I bought my demo 135 vert in NJ and live in PA. Now I have two screw holes in my front bumper. Currently in the market for a euro plate.

I put mine in my front window. I bent it so it's curved and sits alright, and put it right behind the gauge cluster. I've been stopped once for it, but the cop didn't see I had it up there. He didn't ticket me, he just grumbled a bit and sent me on my way. And I live in North NJ where there's lots of bored cops..

I took it off today.... We'll see if I get ticketed. The regular 128i bumper just looks SOOOOOO much better without it.

If you keep it handy in the car and are like "I have it I just have to go get it mounted" you might be able to wiggle out of a few tickets

License plate law (nj)
Wasn't sure if you know or not but if you go to the NJ motor vehicle website it states that you don't need a front license plate mounted on your front bumper it only states that one must be visible from the front. Also you don't need a front license plate to pass DMV inspection in NJ.
