Burning OIL 2011 N52

its a 2011 128i standard N52- no mods
on the clock: 46,000km or (28,000miles)
all maintenance done at the recommended intervals.
I do drive it hard from time to time- but nothing abusive.

I have noticed as of recent( especially after a hard run) that I will get the "oil" light after shutting off the ignition; It indicates " -1L" hence it had burned 1L of oil since the last oil change (March 2013)

Is this a normal occurrence , and should I just top it off and forget about it? Or is this something that I should bring it in to service and have them look at it?
Still under warranty for another 2 years.

Thanks!
