What do you make of this?
I'm about to get new tyres, so in the process of shopping for a wheel alignment, I called Heasmans.
The female that answered replied with " They start from $69". When I asked what it'd be for a BMW 135, I was told - "It depends on what they need to do, and how much camber adjustment they need to do. They'll tell you on the day". I'm certainly no expert, but I wasn't aware that there were too many variables in doing a wheel alignment for a given car. Or is there something special about a 135? |

$69 is for the basic two wheel alignment I suspect.
I paid $114 ($88 if you're a member of certain car clubs) at Spinning Wheels for their four wheel alignment with camber and toe adjustments. They're quite reputable. The same alignment at Heasmans is over $150 IIRC. Considering the 135i is a semi-sports car (? lol), I'd go the full alignment. |

People go to heasmans to get the job done properly and usually have specific requests around alignement settings which the girl on the phone may or may not understand and it is better to speak in person. Some cars have no adjustment other than toe. Others have full range of adjustments, especially fit there are camber plates on the car. The rear of a 1 has toe and camber which adds to the time it takes to get it correct, the front has toe as standard i think.. I'd always get a 4 wheel thrust alignment. No point having the front correct when the rear could be way out. As always you get what you pay for. |
