No one can answer that except you.

The M235 is a great car and in many ways is a much better car than a E82 135i.

But, like all newer cars, the technology fest also takes away other things away from each previous version.

I wasn't impressed enough on the test drive I had of a M235 to consider changing my 135i for one, but, plenty of others have changed and not regretted it.

Weirdly enough, I also prefer the 228i over the 128i, even though I did love my 128i to death.

I had two 128's over the past 5 years. FANTASTIC car. I'm sure 20 years from now I'll kick myself for not keeping it as a collector's item.

I don't regret it. Just wanted the opinions. Everytime I get in my M235 I'm ecstatic.

Why do you think they'll stop making it?

I'm not a BMW expert - but the steering is definitely "softer" in the 2.

I adjusted the sports settings so I can have just sport suspension without drive train. That gives me the tighter steering I'm used to without burning extra fuel in sport mode.

I'm happy with that

I think the only 1 beside the 1M that has any shot at being a collector car is the 135is. If it makes the cut, a long shot, it will be a minor one at best.

On the other hand, I definitely prefer the 228i over the 128i, overall. The 228i with the M package is a nice setup, and I seriously considered that along with the 135i.
the 228 M-sport is not good...i drove one around an autocross invitational thing done by BMW and thought it was not very entertaining at all. The engine is blah...the steering was terribly numb, and the whole car just felt like a luxobarge compared to the 128s and 135is i've driven. The 8 speed automatic just feels like an 'ordinary' automatic in my book----nowhere near the niceness of a DCT and definitely not a substitute for a proper Manual. SKIP.

When I drove the 228i, it was after only driving a 135i DCT once, for a short test drive, and it was a month or two prior. I thought the 228i was nice (I don't track or autoX), but yeah -- not the hot rod my 135i is. The 7-speed DCT is just amazing.

But the torque and mileage on the 228i make for a nice commuter, IMO.

Tried the new M235 but I haven't driven the 135is. The M235 felt refined almost like the new F30 where it feels kind of soft and not sticking with previous BMW DNA. Awful lot of M badges plastered all over the car and seems tacky. Even real M cars don't have that many M badges. I enjoyed its size, comfort and power... then right after that I test drove a 1M.

Without putting the M235 down anymore, lets just say that I prefer and bought the used 1M right away. Even when it is obviously used and more expensive than a brand new estoril blue M235.

I'm pretty sure if a 1M is a choice, it is always the right choice.. Regardless of price. I would imagine they will hold their value forever.

BTW, why are we comparing 228i to 135i? Someone said a key term, "hot rod" when describing the 135i and that is the one thing holding me back before I trade my 135i in for a m235xi. Sad Times. I hope I'm making the right decision. YOLO I guess. Isn't that what kids are saying these days?

Why did you feel the need to post THAT on a nearly 5 month old thread? How did you even find it?
