Retrofit soft close and maintenance plan

Hi Guys,

I have my car for just over 60 days now, and I'm 4 steps away from being complete with my factory retrofits (the other 3 are so expensive )

Basically I know installing retrofits made for your specific model does not void your warranty/motorplan

But what if you used parts from a different series?
My friend and I are about to pull the trigger on ordering the parts, thing is that he doesn't have plan and I do...

Will I'd void or not?
Parts are from a 5 series and will be coded to the VO.

Thanks

The parts do not automatically void the warranty, but if you have future warranty claims that they can attribute to that non-stock modification (don't matter if it came off of a different series of BMW or from a Ford etc) they may deny your warranty claim.

For example, if you mod your exhaust, but you come in for a bad oil level sensor, they will fix your oil sensor because there is basically no way that your modded exhaust caused your oil sensor to malfunction.

Edit: Didn't realize you're in South Africa. Might want to check local warranty laws, but I'd assume it's similar.

Thanks for the feedback,

Just wanted to be sure as the 135 my buddy bought last year came without plan as it was voided by BMW South africa when it came in for a door lock lol.
He couldn't reinstate it even though he was the new owner and removed the dp.

They heard the downpipe when the technician started the car to move into the workshop.

A friend of mine retrofitted "soft close" to his e88(vert). You need to get the mechanical lock and softclose from a 3er GT, those car's soft close's cable is longer than just the F30's so you can hide the motor inside the door.

Curious what retrofits you're doing? Haven't heard much about this before and would love some details. Thanks!
