Who still is running original turbos?

My car is almost at 70k miles and I still have my OG turbos. I want to start tuning/bolting things on to it since my CPO is ending in October, but I am concerned if my turbos take a dump or start rattling I will have all this stuff done and not get them covered even if I bring the car back in stock.

Some turbos hold up well and don't need to be replaced or is it one of those like the water pump where it will break?

Maybe I should just do what I want and not worry until something actually happens.

Also, if you have like 40k miles on your car, I wouldn't expect anything to go wrong. That's still like a new car.

Better to break it now than before CPO ends

The turbos are covered for awhile, I have already had a lot replaced under CPO, thankfully...

One of my turbos started the rattle at 70k modded for 10k. Dealer still replaced with fmic and cat back. I pulled the tune though. I believe turbo warranty was extended to something like 8/85 you can find the info online,

The rattle/chatter you hear at startup might be the exhaust flap.

Turbos are warrantied until 82k so if they're rattling before that take them in. My car got new ones at about 70k along with all the other major stuff.

Edited because people don't appreciate help. Even though it's still quoted.

+1 Will this work? or will they just say you had a boost leak and reattach and or reset code? Does this make the waste gates fail sooner? i only have 3k miles before ill have to pay a deductible under for the replacement...

Encouraging others to commit fraud is... not wise.

Who said anything about fraud? I'm simply saying it for educational reasons only.

I'm sure your dealership manager would feel the same way?

Thanks for your opinion diettab.

To be honest my SA thinks I'm an idiot about my car. Since day one I seem to have my head up my ass, in the dealership (since I normally do anyways). They don't know that I spend hours every day reading forums about the car.

For what it's worth, the longest original turbo car I know personally of is at 80+K ('08) with FBO + meth injection for the past 60K+ miles.

I'm still running the stock turbos... Been modded since 40k and I'm at 64+k now. Honestly, I wouldn't know what turbo rattle even sounds like or know that I have it lol but the car has been running strong. Only bolt on I'm missing is intercooler.
