UPDATE: HondaGoneRogue could probably ship the eyelids to the US for an even cheaper amount than FedEx international shipping, possibly without the need for a US middleman. Cheaper for everyone!

A lot of us people stranded on the wrong side of the Atlantic have been trying to get a hold of eyelids for our 1ers for a while now, and wondering how long it would take for some of the ones which have been available in Germany to reach our shores. By the last 2 or 3 pages of the original thread, user Hammam generously offered to be a middle-man in Germany for only a small commission and purchase a bunch of eyelids and ship them over in a single box to a second middle man (me, probably) here in the US, from where I can individually ship them domestically to save on ridiculous international shipping charges.

Original international shipping would have been 48 USD per package, but playing around with the FedEx rate finder, a 10 kg box shipped to a single location would be only 163 USD total, meaning 16 dollar international shipping for the conservative estimate of each set of eyelids being 1 kg.

Hammam can purchase a variety of eyelids from a variety of manufacturers, and can (probably) get them painted before even shipping them over if you desire. I'm waiting to see how much the painting would cost, and if it would even be available..

See the original thread for examples of the CSR and Mattig eyelids, the pricing of which goes as follows:

CSR Lids (left + right) = 39,00€
Shipping to Hammam = + 10€

1x Lid-Set = 49,00€
2x Lid-Set = 88,00€
3x Lid-Set = 127,00€

Mattig Lids (left + right) = 31,41€
Shipping to Hammam: + 7,90€

1x Lid-Set = 39,31€
2x Lid-Set = 70,72€
3x Lid-Set = 102,13€


So far we only have 4 (I think) confirmed yeses, but in order to take full advantage of cheaper bulk international shipping we should get some more people in on this. Overall, even if you live on the west coast, the total price including shipping for unpainted eyelids should definitely be less than $100 and probably less than $80, much cheaper than having to ship a set of the lids individually.

Anyone is welcome! Please add your name to the list, stating what eyelids you would want, and if available if/what color you would like them painted. Also as a note: if I end up being the second middle man you'd also have to pay the domestic shipping charge from my zip (07456) to yours, wherever it may be. I think the basic ground charge to the west coast from me for 1 kg package is around 10 bucks.

i just bought (2) sets a few weeks ago and i likey a lot!

When i ordered them, the website said (8) weeks. Boy was i happy as a pig in sheet when they arrived in 3 days! They are fukcing hawt...

Oh and the reason i bought (2) sets is because i am going to attempt making my 1st carbon fiber product

Can you post some pictures of your car with those eyebrows? The computer edited pictures always look nice till you see them on a physical car..

I'm guessing it would be cheaper for hondagonerogue to ship straight to you, since you'd have to pay a second international shipping price from me to you.

Ok guys, we have about 8-9 people who said they'd be in, and interest seems to be dying down, so I think this is about enough. Can the people who didn't specify what exactly they wanted please do so in the next couple of days, otherwise you'll be getting some PMs from me ;-)
Also, hammam, if you could give an update on whether your friend can paint the lids for a discounted price, it would be awesome. I want to try to get the big list of what everyone wants done by this weekend so we could organize everything and hopefully get the orders in next week. Hondagonerogue, once the big list is in, we could tally up the number of lids and the weight, and figure out the customs information so you can estimate the shipping cost etc so we know how much we're in for. I want these before summer's over and I'm sure all you guys do too!
