First track outing for my new 1M

Finally got the time to post these. I have been doing track days with my old Focus SVT for a couple years, so was looking forward to taking the 1M. Took it to Homestead for the first time back in May. What a car! Acceleration, braking and cornering are amazing. Even with a passenger I was lapping in similar times to an e92 M3 which looked to have some tuning (my car is 100% stock).

Now I am looking forward to take it to Sebring in October. This is definitely the way to enjoy this car.

The funny thing about painters tape is when a rock hits it usually cuts right through. Oh, and it looks cool too.

I hear HS is hard on tires. How did yours hold up?

This was a NASA FL event. They do several events in Homestead during the year and a couple in Sebring. They used to do PBIR as well, but for some reason it got cut of the schedule this year. There are several other clubs doing events at Homestead and PBIR amongst them Chin and Hooked on Driving.

For Homestead events, NASA uses normally the infield road course, but starting this year they do one event on the Grand AM road course, which uses turns 3 and 4 of the oval, which is good fun.

Big fan of NASA events, very well organized and focused on safety.

Not big fan of the look, but it does provide protection. Though it is true more sizable rocks will cut through it, I have used it for two years in the Focus without incident.

Really is the only way to fully experience how awesome the car is!! Went to my first two HPDE's this year and plan to get involved in some more and timed events next summer!
