Some I pod Help please

I've had two Ipods completely shutoff and completely stop working in the middle of using them in my car with my adapter. Just called my dealer and the service director said theres "NO WAY" that the car could have done this to my ipods.

One ipod was almost brand new and the other was 2 or 3 years old. What should I do?

Tried it... no bueno. neither Ipod responds to any type of reset or plugging them into an adapter etc.

My old gen 1 ipod mini does that sometimes because the battery is done.

Listen, one of the i pods was brand new, neither i pod will turn on or charge.

Did either of you even take the 5 seconds and read what I posted?? Both I pods do not function anymore should I just keep letting the car ruin them? And I talked to the service Dept at my dealer and they said theres "NO WAY" its the cars fault.

Take them to the Genius Bar at an Apple store. If one or both of the iPods are under warranty, this is a non-issue. As for why your vehicle is causing the problem, I'm not sure. Your BMW service department can assist you better.

Second off, be a big boy and compel your BMW service department to address the issue, beyond a simple phone call. It might actually help to take the iPods to an Apple Store (as I recommended earlier) and see if an Apple Genius can determine what actually happened to the iPod. With that knowledge in hand, you can likely present this issue to your BMW service department in a more convincing manner.

I talked to my service dept. on the phone that should have been enough to get some assistance, I shouldnt have to suck anyone off just to not be brushed to the side. Apple wasnt any help either. I sent BMW NA an email.

well after talking to a bmw NA rep a couple times neither my dealer or herself has heard of something like this happening. I was told that if a third i pod were to break they would look into it.. kinda pisses me off that they woudlnt even have some type of electronic specialist look at the car.

Go to an Apple store, bring both ipods. See if you can get something in writing that the ipods were both shorted out by an accessory. Until you can get either side some evidence of what happened you're not going to get anything out of BMW or Apple.
