$5 mod, need opinions!!

Hey all,

So over the weekend I thought of a small $5 mod to do to my daily driver, a 2010 Kia Koup. I saw a roll of red pinstripes at Canadian Tire and thought maybe I can do something GTI-esque with it to my Kia.

After putting the pinstripes on the Kia, had quite a bit left over and started staring at my 135 looking for a place to throw on some red accents to it.

The pinstripes can easily come off with a bit of effort so I'm looking for your opinions. I have no clue if I like or not, sometimes I feel like it looks pretty cool, sometimes I find it too cluttered with the m colored pinstripes on the grill. Let me know what you guy think. All opinions are appreciated.

Too many colors going on for my taste. If they were all silver I would like it.

The horizontal and vertical lines don't mix well for me. Remove one or the other and I would think it looks just fine.

The horizontal color doesn't match the vertical and doesn't have any matching accent colors. I like the vertical m colors though.

I think if you removed the kidney grill lines it wouldn't look too bad. They clash against each other

Looks good on the Kia, red doesn't really work with the body color though.

Doesn't work on the 135. I'd stick with the M-stripes. May look better if you did the German flag stripes instead of the M-stripes, but still would probably look off

I think you should keep both bc I am sure that is what you like better. Some people will like and others will hate, but do you like it? If it was my car, one or the other as mentioned above. However, you already bought the tape, just keep it.

I think you should take off the redline with a hacksaw for a much better cheap mod.

+1 on hacking off the horizontal duct fascia. Also, the red doesn't match your M-colored stripes.

NOW on the other hand:
If you wanted to try something to be different, try wrapping the surrounds of your kidneys in Imola Red. Never seen anyone do that before.

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate all of your opinions. I think I'm going to get rid of the horizontal stripes, leave the m colors (maybe switch it to shades of grey).

Not yet sold on hacking off the horizontal ducts. I don't think they look that bad stock right now. But again thank you all for your opinions thoughts and suggestions.

I've seen this on white bmw's. But I'm definitely down to try this out. Will post pics when I do.

Your mistake was shopping for cosmetic mods at Crappy Tire! What's next Tasmanian Devil 'back-off!' window stickers, barbed wire plate frames or Axxe bodyspray scented air freshener? lol I kid! I applaud you for at least trying something different.

And for what it's worth I never understood the appeal of cutting the horizontal piece of the air intake. It exposes the vertical separation within the duct which I don't think flows with the lines of the front in general.
