To those people that have a Kerscher lip installed, be careful when going over 180kph as my under-body tray came flying off halfway down the drag strip. (disclaimer: I didn't install it)

Considering it was 32oC, I managed a 12.509 whilst dragging a big plastic sail under my car; I am pretty happy with that.

After hacking the shit out of the tray with my trusty leatherman, I was going to go back out but really didnt want to risk the rest of the tray coming lose and I didn't have the tools to remove it all.

Would've been a great night once the sun had gone down but should have some race gas next week so will be better then.

EDIT: Also got my ANDRA licence so might get some VP ms109 and do some testing with that in the next few weeks. I want to get the M3 rear subframe/diff in before meth, so race fuel should make these hotter months a bit more worth the effort.
hey Steve nice graph.. I see you still have stock suspension, you should up grade that, as it will give you a better launch if you have super grippy tyres
and tracking you can corner with confidence..

was the lip bolted on??

The lip is ok but the under tray shield is gone. When the lip was installed, a smaller part at the front of the shield was removed and the force of the air coming through that cavity it has ripped the whole section off.

Any pics of what happened. Your undertray shouldn't just come off, it's secured by a million 8mm bolts.

I think that when the lip was installed a few of those bolts might have been requisitioned to hold the lip rather than the tray. Either way, no biggie. I can get another tray but glad it didnt cause an accident.

This is what was hanging off under the car during the run.

oh wow! must of made a hell of a noise when that was flapping around,
now your bottom naked lol, better cooling for the engine lol
I think the helps hold the front bar steady and the 2 plastic pieces re-enforces it

I cant remember how i installed it but its possible, dont have my car ATM its at the dealer so I can check.

When my lip was installed the front plastic piece was removed (connects bumper to the part that ripped off your car.)

Put it back on Monday using the stock bolts - its needed otherwise the cars aerodynamics are reduced and the front bumper feels loose.

Will be comimg back to wsid soon as i need to do lots of testing of new stuff.

no good news yet, the replace the coil and plugs and this week they installed new injectors.. i saw them on Tuesday and now they found some corrosion on the intake sensors, so they have to order that from BMW AUS.

They have also been talking to the head tech guy over there

Miss firing in cylinder 1-2-3 and they have no clue

They should just give you an entirely new car. I think that would fix it.

On another note more related to this thread, let me know if any of you are heading to WSID. I'll definitely come along if I'm free that night. Thought I think I may need to service my tranny first...
