Mud Flaps
What are everyone's thoughts about the look of mud flaps, as opposed to the dirt and crap you get without them? I had them on my Passat and they really helped. How do you think they would look on my Alpine White E90? Might be a nice touch... interested to hear comments.

I have them and I think they keep my car newer looking and cleaner longer.
With all the road work in MI and OH. and all the tar too. they blend in very very well with the lines of the car too. see.... |

AW on the way. I will just put a few extra coats of zanio on. WD40 works great for taking off tar.

my grandson did them without taking off the wheels. he is 18 and it took about 1 hour to do them. He said just read the instructions good. the rear left side took longer cause the muffler and there is a special bracket for that side. If he can do it, you can do it for sure
I got some wd80, with that work, it twice as strong. |

I had them installed on my Black Saphire 330i and they look great. Of course, with Black, they blend in perfectly and, IMO, they are very subtle. I would highly recommend them.

In MN, for smaller roads and avenues, they usually throw some tar and pour on the gravel and let traffic beat the gravel in instead of resurfacing the damn thing! The amount of gravel your car, and the one in front, throw up is amazing and drives me nuts. Wouldn't drive on those roads without the flaps or within 50 feet of another car. Would you rather touch up the nicks on lower panels or invest in flaps? |

I got mine today, for my Jet Black 3 series!! I will be fitting them tomorrow, weather permitting!!
I consider them essential no matter what colour your car is, but I can see why they might not look so good on a white car. I'll try and make up a DIY for doing it while I go! |

I do not know how they are attached to the 3, but instead of chancing it I decided not to get them and just wash my car more often. LOL

Hi agarbati and jerel56, did you install them yourself or did it at the dealer? If at dealer, how much does it cost? I am getting mine next thursday and was thinking of letting my dealer install them.
By the way, my wife has a white volkswagon golf with no mud flaps, and the amount of paint chipped off near the tires are pretty hard to swallow. That's why I am getting them for the E90. Luckily, my car is black sapphire so it should blend in nicely. Although without them, it looks sleeker though! |

I ordered them with my car so the installation was free. I don't remember the cost but, it was whatever the reg. cost for the parts are. I happen to like the look and, as I said, they're very subtle compared to others I've seen....and, of course, they're a lot more subtle on black.

I've gotten the mudflaps on all my cars. However, all my cars have been dark so they tend to blend in better. You can see my E46 at the link below in Orient Blue. My 330 which is in transit from the VPC to my dealer is Monaco Blue and will also have them.

i think that mud flaps are very efficient when it comes to keeping dirt away from the car but i prefer having to clean the car more often than having mud flaps, as mud flaps that away the sex appeal of the e90
