Anyone tried this
Has anyone tried one of these:
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...ts/Cryo2/17401 I see this would work great when your drag racing. But wouldnt want to use it any other time. Anyone tried one of these yet. Just wondering what the results where. |

I had water misters on my intercooler when I had a Stage 2 SRT-4.
Honestly, more of a gimmick than anything. Adds weight, and then dribbles water all over the lower lip of your front bumper. Nice show factor if bling is your thing. If there were any gains, I surely couldn't feel them... Maybe it would work at the track, but if that's what you want, why bother mounting it to the vehicle and instead hook up a variable pressure regulator to the top of a co2 welding bottle and you got the same thing... You seriously might get more advantage by throwing a bag of ice on top of the intake runners between sessions at the strip.

Well the co2 would be much colder than ice. I can see water not working because it wont stay cold. but c02 is naturally extremely cold (dry ice). So this should lower the temp of the intercooler 30+ degrees. The next question would be how much wear and tear you putting on the intercooler spraying super cold gas on it. Might put some bad wear on the piping. Still want to see if anyone has used co2 sprayers.

It's strictly a piece for show cars. The IAT's are probably closer to 200-250deg. The only thing that really works to lower IAT's are: Larger intercooler & meth injection.
