Guys, remember that you're still getting $2500 off of a 135i and $2000 off of a 128i. That's nothing to sneeze at.

The big draw back on this announcement is that you're in line with everybody else ordering an e82 at the dealership. As Fast Kiwi stated, his dealership is only getting 15 slots for initial delivery. Some will have more, some a few less, but that's rare few slots... With the media hype, we'll be paying ED MSRP, or damn close to it. Plus, you'll have to wait for one, unless you've got a deposit down now.

also.. ive got a feeling some dealerships may not even offer ED on the 1er at all.. (for this years allocations atleast anyways) they may not have a choice given the demand on the ground..

and that's a good point, thats a big savings right there.. if your a little frugel.. you can use that savings to enjoy you're trip to europe.. atleast you'll have a wonderful experience and not lose much out of pocket for it.

well, we'll see.
Keep in mind, that some of your customer's will be committed to the ED delivery regardless of price. My point is that some, maybe many, but not all, of our ED customers will now likely forgo ED because the typical price concession normally provided for ED allocated models will not be there.

Hi Adrian. It's me, your old PGR3 league buddy from the Fest. I still see you online occasionally...

Are you saying that dealers may ask for more than ED MSRP? It's already listed as $2445 less than US port of entry delivery price.

True, but normally, that savings would've been noticably more. I think you'll see more ED enthusiasm for the 135i coupe and the 1 convertible. I suspect that 128i ED will be light.

The biggest challenge here will be finding a center even willing to donate a coveted allocation in the first go round. If so, there's no sense in any further discounts. If the 1 piles up like cord wood, which I seriously doubt it will in it's first year, then BMW ED may open the flood gates to ED allocation. In the meantime, if you're doing ED, you're definitely going for the experience and because you were going to Europe anyway; you're not likely to go just for the ED savings to eek out a net savings after travel expense.

I was thinking this car would be an "little extra meat n potatoes" car for you guys. Surprised they are not going full tilt at Leipzig to get as many over here as possible.

What's up, bro! :w00t:Yeah, I'm using my old Xbox for now as my 360 has the three ring of death flu. Am I still on your friends list? If so add me or I'll add you. User name is still Adrian330xi.

To answer your question: No, I'm not alluding that BMW centers will ask for more than ED MSRP. I'm saying that if they're even willing to donate an allocation, there's not going to be any inclination or reason to discount from ED MSRP. If there's some spare, unspoken for allocations, then I think it's remotely possible to secure an allocation.

I made a quick call to my CA last night & I'm heading out today to put a deposit down for our June ED.

My wife would not be happy if our June trip to Germany (for our 25th anniversarry) fell through!

I'm a bit confused here. So if you order via BMW Performance Delivery Center, you pay the ED MSRP?

No, regular US MSRP. I've heard of people doing ED with a re-delivery at the Performance Center in South Carolina and that is priced as a ED.

I am surprised that 1 series is so popular consider the plethora of negative responses from autoblog, e90post, etc... I hope I get an allocation for March or early Apirl delivery. I am #1 on the list but my dealer hasn't received allocation yet.

well, a lot of other magazines and online blogs have given the 1-series positive reviews, hence the popularity.

does anyone know if ED is going to come out of dealer allocation for the life of the model, or just temporarily? I was going to use ED as a money saving tool, but am considering ordering a more bare bones model. I don't want to regret it if ED becomes available for a little over invoice in the near future.

Yes gents anyone have any thoughts or inside info on when ED will be available for the 135i? Do we have to actually wait for the 2009 model before ED is available? Come on BMW!
