does anyone know anything about these two items?

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...inators//12421

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...inators//16157

both advertise "CEL light elimination" but will it make the car ready for inspection?

^ if those works, it would probably prep readiness; but, they seem a bit suspicious to me.

Definitely leave this question open to someone more knowledgeable than myself, just my opinion. If it is a grade A solution, I'm on board! Almost seems too easy though.

can you just weld a hi flow cat on your midpipe and move the 2nd o2 sensor back to that cat?,

the other method, would securing the o2 work? I need an inspection in a week. I need to find anyway possible to get this to work!

I think we've come to believe the 2nd o2 (or the catalytic sensor) might be able to get pulled and just hung on the side.

Welding a cat onto your midpipes isn't the best idea and much more work. You'd have to find a way to extend the sensor down that far as well. You'd have to cut the pipe, weld the high flow cat on, extend the sensor down to the midpipes and drill a bung for the sensor. That doesn't sound very easy haha.

I might be willing to try the hanging method in a few weeks. I'm getting my car inspected then putting on a Vishnu dp. The thing that worries me is that these sensors are said to be very fragile. Seems like if it's not securely attached it's easily damaged.

I ran my Eagle Talon with the O2 sensor safety wired to the side exhaust from 2003-2010 with over 100K miles (HARD racing miles) on it with no issues and no CEL. I drove the car in South Dakota where I bought it from and lived there for 1 year. Then I drove it cross country to California, it sat there for a year while I was overseas (Military). When I got back I drove it to North Dakota and lived there for 1 year. I then drove it back to California and sold it after having it here for 3-4 years. It was always my daily driver, through snow, dirt, racetrack, and on terrible roads. I never once had the rear O2 sensor crap out or throw a CEL or have the car run funny because of the O2 sensor. I really miss that car and I should have never sold it. What you could do BEFORE you remove your cat, is pull the O2 sensor out of the exhaust like I suggested. If it throws a CEL, you could put it back in and reset the ECU. No harm no foul. If I had access to a lift, I would have done this already just for my own info.

+1 Please let us know how it works! The more functioning solutions the better it is for the community.

BMWs are definitely very sensitive when it comes to things like that so you never know!

Cobb won't get rid of the cel, it will be similar to auto clearing which won't pass inspection either. I asked Cobb already -.-

Stage 1 won't, but I thought stage 2 is all golden when it comes to that?

I just asked Cobb again. lets see what he says.

I have a question, lets say I let this sensor hang out of my downpipe, now if this potentially fixed the problem would I need to start a new drive cycle?

Let me know what they say I'm about to go Cobb AP soon, maybe get on that testing group.

I don't see why you would need to do that though, but I guess we'll see what others say.

Cobb said no. So Cobb stage 1,2,3 does NOT have dp fix.

so Once I do the o2 sensor hanging method, I don't need to do a drive cycle? the ses will automatically go off?

I think it should go off, if not just go clear the code and that should be good enough. It took me about 100 miles before I got an SES light. Do you already have one?

well I need the sensors to be "ready" for inspection and no cel. I run a drive cycle and get the cel usually around 30-50 miles. Honestly I am extremely frustrated with this catless dp situation. If all fails I am going to part out. 200 install and uninstall is 400 a year. new dp every year? lol
