Did I mess up by not getting Sports Package???
Need advice....
Just ordered new e90 black saphire with only the premium package. I want to get the Hartge Classic 2 wheels 19" but after reading this forum I feel like it might not look as good as the pictures i've seen. Is the sports suspension a real difference from the sports package??? Help.... C |

If it's the suspension you're worried about, just get aftermarket suspension. That will make the handling even better than the sports suspension.
Why do you think the Class 2 wheels won't look as good as the photos?? |

has your production started yet??
sports pack is the cheapest set of wheels/tires you can buy, plus you get the cool seats, steering wheel, suspension. maybe you can change your order still |

my order is already in production Lost8found...the reason i feel the wheels wont look good is cause the suspension is normal therefore making the wheel look awkward unless the 19"s will fill the wheel base nice. I guess i could add aftermarket drop suspension but if thats the case, am i really saving money not getting the stock sports package? I really dont mind the seats or steering wheel, Its the out side look i want most. Plus i ordered the idrive.

Camilo--I don't think you need to worry from reading everything on this thread. With 19-inch wheels you should have no problem filling out the wheel wells with the stock suspension. Since you are already changing wheels and you don't care about the sport seats I don't think it's worth it to get the sport package.

The sport suspension does drop the car, but I think it's only about 15mm.
If it's too late to make a change, I'd wait and see what the wheels look like first. You can always add an aftemarket suspension later. You may even be able to add the BMW suspension, since it's a stand alone option in Europe. I'm also sure people will be selling their sport suspension springs soon, as some people always want to go aftermarket even if they have the sportiest factory option. Hopefully you're plan wasn't to save money, because the Hartge wheels alone are more than cost of the sport package. I can't decide if I will go with the sport package becasue of the seat. I want to like them, but they are just so snug that I'm afraid they will be uncomfortable for extended driving. |

BTW, here's a link to the aftermarket suspension thread if you haven't seen it. There's plenty of lowering spring options available already - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=613 |

If it were me I would cancel the order and get the sport package. Sport suspension is fantastic, especially after the break in period. Great control and yet not too firm. Sport seats are awesome. They keep the driver securely in place when you are aggressively putting the car through a curve. It is also a great value considering what you get. If I were to limit myself to one option on the 330 it would be the sport package.
My comments are based upon my experience with 04 545 sport, 01 530 sport, and a test drive in a 330 sport.

I canceled my sport package and got Nav instead. The way I look at it, I can always add the SP components later. I cannot add integrated Nav though, or Xenons (which I also got) without shelling out a lot of money. The seats were the only reason for me initially wanting the package, but they begin to pinch after a couple of hours of driving. The standard seats are not that bad. Far better than most other manufacturers 'sport seats.' Plus, I don't want to keep replacing Z rated tires every year and swap winter tires for half the year.

I wanted to add Pre Wiring option. I was told by my dealer that it was too late. Please let us know how you made out. |

Dude, you messed up by not getting the sport package, the sport suspension makes a huge difference in the overall feel and ride of the car, trust me cause I just bought to E90's, one for me one for my sister, her's doesnt have the sport package and her car drives totally different than mine...
w/e you do, dont spend $300 for springs, thats gonna make the ride bad, bumpy and will cause you to really regret what you did, if ur gonna invest in an aftermarket suspension spend the $ and get springs and shocks..do it right, trust me |

Springs are not bad at all, I have aftermarket springs on my CTS, and the cornering improved a lot and the car sticks to the road much better, ride quality is about the same, biggest difference was when I jumped from 16" wheels to 18".

I drove both SP and non-SP and I was sold on the SP immediately. There was a huge difference in road handling when you drive aggressively. However, you do do lose on ride comfort to some extent, so it's a tradeoff you have to make.
I second the suggestion of driving both one after the other and if you decide that you want SP, do what it takes with the dealer to get it changed. Personally, I would prefer to get BMW's original suspension than installing after market springs. You also get the amazing seats and the very cool steering wheel. |

Wow...thanx for all the feed back....I spoke with my dealer and its too late to change. Yes I went for the idrive nav and xenon over the sport package. Like i said the exterior is more important to me with the wheels and spoiler. And yes once an aero spoiler kit is available (maybe the M kit) i'll probably have it put on later. But for me Wheels, Wheels, Wheels is my biggest obsession. I was just conserned about the lower spring on the sport package. I'm thinking 19"x10's rear and 19"x9 front of the Classic 2. What do you guys think of that size for what I have? BTW...i ordered Black Saphire with 20% tint.
