Discoloration (rust?) on 128i vert

Help!

After 6K miles on my 08 Jet Black 128i vert I am beginning to notice that a 1/2 to 3/4 inch piece of plactic trim located under the fabric top when up and exposed when down is starting to discolor badly. This piece is located behind the rear seats. It looks like rust even though I think this piece is plastic, though I could be wrong. In the bright sunlight it looks like crap, with golden/orange streaks blending into what should be a solid black piece. (When the top is up you don't see this as the top is then covering this piece, i.e. this is the piece that the top sits on top of)

I plan to bring this to the dealer's attention next week when I visit next week to fix my vert's broken tail light (another 08 vert issue). Anyone else notice this problem?

Take it to the dealer... Corrosion is covered for a long time by BMW (I think 10 years?)
