opening/baking oem headlights?

Hey guys I want to bake open my headlights and blackout the housing, I've done this before on my evo x so it wouldn't be my first time. However it would be my first bmw, and knowing how delicate these cars are I want to know if it's possible to actually bake them open and if anyone has done them, I have a 2009 135i, thanks!

You cant bake them open unless you want to melt the plastics. I am at work right now but I will respond to your question later today on how to separate the housings.

Excuse me for responding so late. It is the same process for 135i housings. But why the interest for opening them up?

I have baked Honda headlights with success.
I took off all the electrical parts, and placed it on a piece of wet cardboard. and put in oven. When the original sealant was soft, I was able to split the lense. It took quite a bit of patience.
I used a head light repair kit seal and silicone RTV to seal the lense.
I had a short lived condensation issue, other than that turned out great.

I've done multiple lights before but I've read bmw headlights aren't easy some come with sealant that won't warm up so you can't pull them apart, that's why I said never-mind

To black out the chrome parts so they are completely black from the interior as well as get rid of the ugly amber side marker
