Feeler: Custom Splitters for M-sports!!!!

UPDATED: Check page 2 for the intro/teaser pic if you will

So I don't know about you guys but I want something a little different on the front end of my 1. iCarbon makes a great lip and it looks awesome but I see them in too high of frequencies, the 3D design, Hamman, AC Scnitzer and Hartge are just not really my style and a little pricey IMO...

So me and an M3post member(Definitive) have come together to create what I would say is a semi-functional race splitter for the 1-series M-Sport front bumper. And I say semi-functional because I believe it will create some downforce we just don't have a wind tunnel to test it. If we filled in the air dams and dropped the angle a little bit, this thing would probably rip your bumper off if not secured and bolted appropriately JK!

The splitter will be something of this nature but this is on an M3 so it will be a tad different and have its own little twist for the 1...PM me if you would like to know a little more about it. We mounted up the template on my car and so far from what I see its gonna look awesome

definitive and I already have the template...next is to fine tune the template with some nicer material, spray paint it black and mount it up. Then I can get you guys some pictures. We came up with a little twist for the 1er splitter its gonna look super aggressive

Make it about 150-200 and you'll be selling more than you can make

I know this is a performance front end, but it may help people visualize the concept.

Wink

Very interested...tho I probably will get flamed by this:---try to avoid all the rage about CF, make it sturdy of an ABS material that can take some low rock chipping, properly molded for a snug and proper fit, instead of some of the CF's I have seen that look like drooping diapers on a little boy---and you will sell a ton. [disclaimer: IMHO]

Dang it tho, the only drawback to these dang things, is they will have bugs caught in the crevice like popcorn in your teeth, but they are still awesome...[I stand on the top stantement still--IMHO]

+1

I believe that if this does become a CF piece it will be abused by the road and foreign objects on the road. You buy a CF piece to look good and stay looking good!

A sturdy matte black piece to match the rest of the car would look sick! Has anyone seen these painted the same color as the car?

Looks good! If I am not mistaken the only front lips are for the AERO kit?

Make one for the aero bumper too (like in HondaGoneRogue's pic, just not the ridiculously expensive BMW one) and I'll jump on this offer too
