This may be a dumb question, but why do we need to order four of each of those pistons? There are only 12 pistons total in those calipers right?

4 x 28mm pistons + 4 x 32mm pistons + 4 x 36mm pistons = 12 pistons all up.

this still will only fix the piston cracking issue. the brakes will still over heat and have problems. when my pedal goes to the floor on the track, i feel like i am asking for a disaster to hsappen. i don't think cooling is going to help either, even if there was an option available. i think "real" BBK is only cure.

Brake fade is caused by heat when your fluid boils.. I have no idea why he would think that cooling wouldn't help.
Brake fade feeling can happen if you have air in your lines, which is why I suggested bleeding, because these brakes take lots beating before they fade, with proper fluids in them. |

it looks like TH motorsports has seals for $21.50, so it should only be $255 + shipping. save yourself $45, thats like free brake fluid!

I just did the Racing Brake Kit earlier this year. Just need an air compressor to get the old pistons out and a pick tool to get the old seals and dust boots out. I went with the high temp dust seals. Have to be careful not to get any brake fluid on the high temp dust seals though. I covered em up with masking tape when I put my calipers back on. I've yet to track with them yet. My first track day this year is this coming Monday.

Has anyone tried this upgrade? Apparently RB are have production delays with their pistons/seals, so I think the Stoptech pistons are the only option available at the moment.

After my brake service job yesterday (Motul RBF600 fluid replacement, inner-to-outer PFC 08 pad swap, clean up of all contact points, and thin coat of copper grease), I noticed that one of my driver side pistons had begun to chip. Dust boots are disintegrated as well, but I dont care as much about that. I used the Dremel to carefully smooth out the chip with very good results, and will start the lapping season like this.
Will be ordering pistons soon. Will email RB to see if that have their "leaking" piston seal issue sorted out for owners that see freezing weather. If not, will order seals from Zeckhausen, "high temp" boots and "vented" pistons from RB. Any one know of a good DIY to the 135i caliper rebuild?

While I was on the RB site today, contemplating ordering their caliper rebuild kit, to my surprise the kits are no longer available or at least, they have been "temporarily" removed from their web site.
Would have been nice to order their stainless steel vented pistons...
