I have the BMS intake and ER charge pipe as well. Guess I'll have to buy whatever FMIC you get.

Haha, yeah.

Im hoping the VRSF works out because 399 will be WAY better than 700+ for the other options. Have a buddy with an N54 on 100% e85 full Vishnu setup with their flex fuel kit and he has the VRSF and says it works great.

As an aside, on the intake. I love the way it sounds now. Being able to hear the turbo spool and hear the whoosh of the diverter valve makes me happy, lol.

Headed down to Neuschwanstein tomorrow because my 2 year old daughter wants to "go see the princess castle!" Then im taking the wife and her to Ramstein, on Wednesday, to catch a space-a flight back to the states. Then Friday ill be headed up from Ramstein to the 'ring for Car Friday. Saturday ill be putting my downpipe on and going to the Street Culture thing in Schweinfurt.

Busy week coming up but love that I have 7 straight days off. Got 96 hours off because we just finished reintegration and that runs right into Easter weekend! Also, because we are no longer on GRF (first time in almost 10 years that the 173rd inst on GRF) I dont have to put in for a pass and get to run my 96 hours into the rest of the Easter 4 day without going back in for accountability!!!! THEN NEXT WEEKEND I START MY 30 DAYS OF POST DEPLOYMENT LEAVE!!!! AHHHHH.

I am somewhat impressed that you can tell by the tread . Its a really grippy snow-tire, but freakin loud on tarmac.

I made an appointment for today after work to get it hopefully fixed at my local tireshop.

I like M3's because they are stiff tires and rated for higher speed. When you will finish those try Dunlop 3D which now I believe updated to 4D they are quiet and a little softer which is good for icie roads though very good for high speed also.

They will fix it for sure... Don't worry. You will forget which tire was that.
Good Luck

Got it fixed today. Was a mean sheet-metal screw, about 2cm long and 5mm thread-diameter

newest mod...getting ready for track season

ER FMIC, very well packed and great price, unfortunately there was a long, deep stupid scratch on the top (under the cardboard so it was packaged from North American Motorsports that way...good thing it doesn't matter and won't be visible.

Probably install one of these furlough Fridays...gotta think positively about this budget BS....

Nice cooler Rick. Is it a 5" or 7" thick intercooler? Also, when you drop the stock one, can you take a pic of it? I want to see if it's the same as a stock 135i IC.

It's actually 6" and yes...my thoughts exactly as I figure there might be folks interested if it is indeed larger or different from standard 135 parts...my thinking is that it's the same intercooler as what you have/had for OEM.

Maybe Dave knows...

Pretty sure it's the same IC as a regular N54.

You went with the polished look, eh? Still trying to decide if I want polished or black. The black coating is supposed to make it less susceptible to damage, but the polished look lets people who really look know there's something special going on.

...just checked RealOEM.com - it is the same intercooler used on a lot of BMW's these days(I counted 18 different ones!). Same one used on the 135i and 1M too.

Rick... me thinks your gonna need rear tires soon! Stelvio gonna eat them up! I think I worn down my tires 2mm or 3mm's last year driving on all those hairpin turns!

Gabe... we all know Rick is having his second childhood with his 1M. He needs all the (chrome)Bling-Bling at his age.

Rick - are you going to also change your charge pipe too? I think I would.

Ha, ha.... not a fan of chrome but iat the $400 discount price, chrome was the only option.

as for the cp...I'm trying to make performance mods that don't blow my warranty...wasn't it a chargepipe issue that negated Dan Parker's warranty claim on a blown engine?

Looks like you can't even see the chrome parts once it's installed. I would gladly take a chrome one for a $400 discount.

A CP negated a warranty claim?!? It's just a metal tube replacing a plastic one! If a CP will void it, anything can.

I'm going to charge up my laptop and try to do the ISO update to my JB today.
Wish it was warmer...

Sooooo downpipes are a pain in the dick....

Got it all done finally, couldnt have done it without kleach18 though. Definitely a life saver man.

Sounds really really good on the highway. Cruising there is really no difference from stock, but at WOT it sounds mean and has a nice pop when shifting gears.

I know you younger guys think this but in reality I've always modded my vehicles...I started modding in 1977 with a '68 SS Nova, then a '66 Impala, '72 VW, '85 Mustang GT, and in '92 I had a 4x4 Izusu Amigo that I modded with lift kit, 33" BFG all-terrains, Rancho shocks and multiple other mods. Seeing that Izusu Amigos weren't actually on the top of most 4x4 wish lists, nobody really modded this truck so mine was different and featured in a 4x4 magazine.

So this 1M joins a long history of me making changes to my rides...and probably the last of my modding cars. It's just too sweet and makes me smile every time I blast around a curve and punch out the other end...drive it like you stole it should be on my dash

As it's been said the world over: "growing old is mandatory, acting old is optional" I think Rudi can agree with that statement
