Oil Filter Housing Gasket Replacement E88 135is
Has anyone done this yet for an E88 135is and, if so, anything memorable about it? The E88 has some extra bracing that you don't have with E82s and then the 135is has an extra cooler and larger fan.
I'm about to replace both gaskets here - #4 and #5: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_4465 04 Gasket 1 11428637821 05 Gasket 1 11428637820 I know you have to take off the intake manifold. I've gotten about halfway done on this job before I gave up (one of the bolts took 30m-1hr). So, I am also thinking of replacing any gaskets there and doing a walnut blast since there is no better time to do such. As well, I was thinking of replacing the accessory belt and all the pulleys. (There's quite a bit of oil on the front of the engine now and it's a ticking time bomb) Has anyone gone down this road and, if so, any suggestions/guides? I saw one for a 335i or something on one of the forums and downloaded a quite large PDF. However, it's not a step by step guide and I am kinda dying for that because I don't want to get lost with taking parts off. I also don't want to find out 2-3 hours in that I can't do the job w/o jacking up the car or something else because my access to a driveway is limited. Thoughts? |
