Aquartz Iron Cut

I will be detailing my car next week while on vacation. Finally decided to take on the adventure myself since it will give me something to do while on vacation. I was just wondering on the cheapest place to pick up some Iron Cut since it seems everyone is using it and I haven't read any negative reviews on it. Thanks!

Any difference between Iron Cut, Iron X, and Wolf's WF-1P Deironizer?

Which one do you recommend?

It appears that you guys use Iron Cut most (all?) of the time.

OK.

What would make you choose one or the other for a particular job or is it just the particular detailer's personal preference?

Sorry for being so inquisitive.

I think it's personal preference.. Wolf's gel is said to cling on to paint better because it's gel but I think majority of people prefer Iron Cut over Wolf's Gel based on this forum.
The best way to test it out would be to pick one and try it this time and buy the other one next time and try that product and see it for yourself.

Yup... Just trying to make a somewhat reasonably logical decision.

In my recent post I've been talking about doing a paint cleaner application (zymol HD Cleanse) via porter cable...possibly no claying involved. Do I need this Iron Cut? I've heard many people talking about it...just never understood the need for it.

sure the iron cut/decon step is not necessary for all situations, however does help ease up the clay process.

Maybe I'll give it a try for my winter-prep detail..
Can it be used on alloy wheels too?

Phil, I used Aquartz iron cut on my wheels and the wax started to drip off and I cannot remove it. Sort of a white drip stain on only two wheels. Will the Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner get this off ? Do I need to use a soft bristle brush too?

BTW..the iron cut smells like skunk

Has anyone tried the Iron X Snow Soap: http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-snow-soap.html ?

Looks like it combines Iron X and soap, saving you one step in the washing process.

you can either use some detail spray to remove that or you can use a light polish. what happened is you did not remove all of the iron cut, this will happen to just about all wheel cleaners if you have not rinsed it off all the way.

just about every decon gel has smelled like sulfur/rotten eggs.

CarPro claims their new formula of Iron-X is cherry scented.
