Checking coolant strength

Hey all,

My coolant is low. Float is about 1.25" below top threads. But no coolant light is coming on.

BMW parts department is closed till Monday, so I can't get any coolant. Was thinking of just adding distilled water. But I don't want to add so much that freezing point is significantly altered.

Does anyone know if you can just use a plain old antifreeze tester? Or will it not read properly with the bmw coolant? Was thinking as long as freezing point is high enough, could add water and check strength again. Rinse, repeat.
