Stock DCT dyno results and vid
Here is a short vid and graphs from my dyno runs today. Thanks to FDfranklin for putting the vid together. I am in no way an expert in studying dyno graphs, and I know all dynos are different, but my numbers did not look like I expected. A couple of odd things I observed:
- I think the TQ is a little low compared to some of the other graphs posted on here. The HP seems about right though. - I made power all the way up to 6300 RPM before it started falling off. This surprised me since in almost every other graph I have looked at power starts to fall off around 5700. Anybody have an explanation for this? - No dip in the torque curve. I think this was because the run started at 3500 so the computer didn't overshoot its boost target. Car is a stock 2011 with DCT. Runs were made in fourth gear.

The videos were of 2 different cars, one with the tune and one was stock both are DCT. I would assume that both would put down about the same numbers stock, so looking at the other dyno it would show only an increase of about 20whp which is very low :/ Edit: The torque numbers do look awfully low, every tune I have seen the torque has been higher then hp.

Just clear up any confusion the stock 135=DCT. Tuned 135=Manual
He had bigger HP gains in the mid range and his TQ gains were significant. I think I read in one of the early N55 JB3 threads the goal of stage 1 was to increase power in the mid range.

ahh, my bad I thought both were DCT. I wonder how much more the DCT would put down stock. Anyone care to give an opinion?

The reason you aren't seeing big torque is because you are starting at 3500rpms. You would see a lot higher torque in the 2-3k rpm range.

Just did my first dyno runs on wednesday on my 135i DCT Mpackage LeMans blue. After seeing the numbers posted here, I feel ashamed. I got 273hp on a DynoJet, althought the numbers for the "Run File_001.drf Max Power" are 284hp. The temp. was at about 86 degrees F. After that run we installed a JB3 for the N55 and took it to the dyno for a couple of runs and I only saw 288! The car feels fast as hell, judging from the "ass-o-meter". Why am I not getting at least 25-30hp more. I don't have any other mods done. Thought I would start with the "piggy-back". What am I doing wrong? I had the guy from the dyno put map 3.

I ran on 4th. and pressed the living daylights out of the gas pedal. As far as I'm concerned I ran on Map1, 2, and ended up keeping it on Map3.
