Arrival

My dealer called me today..... MY car has arrived but I have to wait for a paper to clear..... I cant wait to pick it up but during the wait I have saved enough money for the 135i

So who wants to buy a brand new never driven 128i for under invoice?

Oh and when I got the original order form my production date was scheduled for May 19th. My car arrived 11 days before it was even scheduled to be made.. YAHOO!

If you really want the 135i, I'm sure the dealer will put that 128 on the lot for you (if they can get a 135i for you) ..

Really, for the sake of waiting a while longer, you may as well try to get the car you really want. That said, the 128i is a super car in its own right...

If you're really coming from a 140-160HP car then the 240HP will feel really fast to you. When I first got my PT Cruiser GT (230HP), coming from the non-Turbo PT Cruiser, it felt extremely fast to me. In fact it still feels pretty fast and I'm able to burn people at red lights all the time.

I'd say drive the 128i and see what you think. It may be plenty fast for you and you can use that extra money for something else. (and avoid having to wait another 2+ months)

Well, if you're going to pine for a 135, you may as well get what makes you happy, especially if you can afford it now. Otherwise you're always going to feel a tad unsatisfied with your car.

I think it depends on the kind of car buyer you are. If you're like me and you buy a new car every 3 years anyway, then stick with the 128i for now and trade it in when the thrill wears off and you're wanting something more. However if you're the kind of guy who buys cars to own for many years to come, then get the 135i now so that you wont feel any sort of regret down the line.

Why not wait another 5-6 more months and buy a Porsche Cayman? Or even 5-6 years and buy the next super car.

Edit:
I definitely agree with getting what makes you happy. If you're spending 30k-45k on a car you'd be crazy to not get what you want.

I could have bought a Cayman, but didn't because it's impractically small. The 135i is as close to a "super car" as I could get while still getting a usable back seat and trunk. (my Dad actually tried to get me to buy a Lotus Elise like his, talk about impractical!)
