First win for the BeE30
Was the last round of Tighe Cams Hillclimb Series at Mt Cotton on the weekend.
In Improved Production (2L and over), Piers Harrex and I had a great tussle for the lead, with him setting the early benchmark of 48.85 on Saturday. I managed a 49.67 with gearchange issues. On my second run on Sunday, I matched his time with a 48.85, so it was on... Our next run saw him improve to a 48.36, and I ran a 48.60. Karl Begg was right in there as well, breaking into the 49s for the first time. On our final run, Piers improved again with a 48.34, Karl did a PB of 49.70 and it was down to me for the last run... This is what it looked like from inside the car Did a personal best of 48.12, a full 0.99 sec quicker than my previous times here in October. I can still see areas for improvement, so there's more in the car to come. It's taken a full two years, but it looks like I have finally thrown the monkey off my back from the E36 crash in 2009. Officials there also commented that Karl, Piers and I took out the award for best burnouts as well. The crowd seem to like our rev-limiter tyre-warming antics
