New photo gear, same AW 135

I just got a DSLR and lenses, and my brother Justin(OKC) came in town for a little trial shoot. Here are some of the better shots.

The interior shot doesn't really show the true color very well. Maybe ppower can post a pic with better color representation. I must say that cleaning the car up today has made me feel better about BMW bringing out lemans blue, but if I did it again I would likely do lemans with either terra or lemon. Oh well, I'll save lemans for my e90 me which will most likely be my next car.

Alright, not a great photo, but this shows the true color of Terra better than the others. I'm still working on getting good pictures of interiors

Here's one using the wide angle of the shoot area. I love this wideangle. I'm standing closer to the car than he was.

Thanks. As for the gear, I decided today that the hobby of buying this gear is cheaper than being able to buy the 1 itself, so this will have to do for now. I'll just use my toys to take pictures of other people's toys.

You can see in pics 1-5 that we rolled the car to rear the BMW clearly between the spokes, and rotated the center caps to be upright. I kinda like the little touch.

Yep, I stepped up from a Fuji S700, now about $130 from Wal-Mart. As much as I like my new gear, the price makes that one an unbelieveable value. I'm having fun with the gear, but I haven't yet put any of the photos through Photoshop yet. I may have to try using NEF files as well. A local shop is having a 6 week Photoshop class that I may do. I have no idea what I'm doing with the curves. Complete guesswork for now.

BTW, here are other threads of the car:

PPower,

I am a Canon guy, but maybe this will help you...

Every good photographer has a "workflow". You need to build your own.

Most slr users prefer to take photos in RAW format. Then you can do post-processing to adjust stuff later.

Photoshop is great, maybe one the greatest app on a computer (I love it) but it might not be the best for workflow. Again I am not a Nikon guy, so maybe there is a sight that gives equivalent information...

If you get a chance sign up on the site, and check out more of

I know this is not a car...lol but his daughter is so cute and his ability to catch the moment, is amazing photography... Here is a sample of 100's he has posted.

schmoelzel

I personally think he is amazing. Oh this info was made aug 2005, so much might have changed... but it's a start.

It would be very nice if some of the photographers here could give us good photo tips for cars, and their workflow.

Thanks for the info EspressoBoy. I've saved that tutorial. I don't have my Photoshop loaded onto this computer yet, so I just played with color temperature on the pictures to correct the white balance with the car being in the shade. Looks much better. I just replaced all of the pics and added one of Justin. r:
