Unhappy Broke the green power wire flap in ECU box

I am kinda worried about taking my car into the dealer now for service ever since I removed my JB4 to go get my HPFP replaced this week due to the recall they had. The issue is I broke one of the power wire flaps and it fell under my ECU box. The question I'm concerned about is do you think the dealer could void my warranty for implying that I opened the ECU box and I broke the flap and therefore I have had a tune on the car without finding any trace to the JB4?

dunno...but most likely they wont even notice or even go searching in there so as long as it is out and codes cleared you should be okay. if there is no rush to do the recall, go to realoem and order the part you need, fully remove ecu box and grab the broken one and replace...pretty simple too.

I did the same thing and went in for the recall with my procede removed. I dont think they'll check in the ECU area unless the DME keeps crashing when they try to update it.

Same thing happened to me as well, two years ago. I have had two fuel pumps as well as two sets of injectors replaced since then, and it was never an issue for me.

On the 135i it's in the ECU area where we connect our piggybacks to ie JB4 and Procede.

Me too. Isn't that thing such a b*tch? Terry should REALLY make a BIG asterisk about that in the install guide.

However, they have no reason to go in there, they do all the ECU reading/updating/etc from the port under the steering wheel. Unless they already suspect something, they won't check it out. And, personally knowing a BMW tech, they don't really care. Even if they DO suspect, they'll take a quick look, not even notice a little green piece missing, and go about their day so they can fix the car and go home.

You'll be fine

Trust me, they aren't as anal as Mitsubishi and their warranties (speaking from experience).

Agree..........Techs get paid on how many jobs they do. The more jobs the more they make. Wasting time on this would actually lose them $$ unless they actually have an issue.
