Low beam Malfunction, Help please
Didn't drive my 1er all weekend, get in to go to work today and I get hit with "left low beam malfunction".
Hoping it was just the bulb I switch them really quick to confirm, the bulb is not burnt out. I swap them back and restart my car no gong at this point( thank god). But halfway to work I get low beam malfunction AGAIN this is about 20 min into my commute. Also there no condensation inside the housing and last night was the first cold night we've had in the PNW sub 50 degrees. What could be going on? |

Could be your bulb. Switch the bulb from left to right and SEE if the error code pops up for that other side. That said it could be a bad ballast or control unit inside your headlight.
You need to use a code reader than can read BMW codes(not just OBDII can/bus codes) like BmwCarly or BMwhat app or the like. I wonder if you could hold down the BC button to get more info... (the next time this happens) ??? http://www.endtuning.com/ccidcodes.html

Def the bulb. Mine did that a few months ago. Flickered for like a week before it just died. I swapped the bulb and TADA, issue resolved.

I had the same warning and ended up being some headlight control module for the headlights.
Was a $1k repair but thanks to the extended warranty only $50.
