Now we know you're obviously NOT The Stig.

My days of trying to fight the 128i automatic are over. I've conceded. Best of luck to everyone. Time to look into a more appropriate track car, like an E36 or E46 M3, or an E30 like SkinnyVT.
FYI for those interested - my Bilstein suspension, eibach sway bar and dinan camber plates (with upper guide supports) are for SALE! Also have a set of HP Plus pads w/ 2 track days on them. PM me for more info if you're interested.

Well, lots of laps in and no issue this time, had better tires this time so braking distances were reduced a bit. Still have what feels like what would be sticky throttle in a normal car but probably just an issue with the electric throttle not communicating quick enough.

Hoping to have a solution but won't be able to see if it works till Saturday. I'll keep thread posted.

Btw saw thread on aa tune. I asked if it addressed this issue. Response was. "sorry no".

Was at Lime Rock again, I was doing instructor training so there were multiple drivers and still no issues. Only differences this time were tires and I bypassed the pad sensors to get rid of the light on my dash.

AA seems to have zero interest in actually helping the community, they just want to make shift times faster for people with automatics.

btw, why the hell are you near a computer on your honeymoon?

Bumping this back up, ran into the issue again at NJMP this past week. 20 minutes in it put me in limp mode, slow lap didn't eliminate it so I parked it for the session. Was back to normal during the next session.

Anybody figure out a way to trick the computer yet? I have no desire to spend significant money to fix this issue on a car that is only a backup for the track.

I was at the track last weekend and didn't get any issues with braking... running 25-30 minute sessions.

I know this is an old thread but wanted to check to see if anyone found any solutions to this very real problem. My car has gone into limp mode, 5000 rpm max, every session of every track day it is warm, 60-70 degrees +. It is VERY frustrating.

Ths DSC fault shows-The engine output was temporarlily reduced (measure for preventing possible overheating of brakes)

My experience with the dealer and the factory has been fruitless. The factory tech rep said the car is not designed for the track and it is doing it's job to protect me. Wow, I asked if they would put that in their next TV ad.

ANY help would be much appreciated!

I don't know of anything. Might want to try contacting race teams that run 128's and ask them what they have done. Mitchum motorsports is the first one off the top of my head..

I've still yet to experience anything like this on the 135.

Epic Motorsports (the guys that tune for Bimmerworld) told me that depending on the VIN they have had luck turning off that "feature". I couldn't justify the cost of the tune for my daily driver so I don't have any first hand experience.
