This video shows what the sound is like, so I guess I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. The sound is most prevalent between 0:20 and 0:30.
Man that's subtle! I wouldn't even notice it. Listen to the driveline on my M Coupe (0:09-0:24) or fuel pumps (1:39-2:02) so I might not be the right person to judge NVH!

You want to take it easy (no full throttle loading and no high speeds) for the first 2,400 kms bc the diff needs to be broken in. The ring gear and pinion gears need to "get to know" each other. IF you were to do a top speed run or WOT run... it can put some wear on the pinion gear (and its bearing) and cause a slight noise - at steady cruising or slightly acel. The noise always goes away on decel I notice this noise on a lot of rental cars (RWD) bc no one taes it easy on them when new! lol

I would try changing your diff oil. RedLine makes some really good diff oils.

I listened to your audio noise recording - I could not make anything out. Just sounded like a bunch of white noise to me.

Turn it up and listen between 0:20 and 0:30. You will hear the high pitched sound I am getting.

Uber cool coupe man.
Reminds me of old style hotrods. Done the things to it that matter to you. Given me a bit of inspiration for my project next year.

I got a chuckle the other day. When I took the car into the mechanic (not the dealer one though) he came over to me with a cup in his hands and asked "still believe in lifetime fluids?" as he thrust the cup under my nose to show a black mess of what should be diff oil.

I've had it changed to Redline oil and the high pitched whine was gone instantly. It makes me wonder why the dealers are so stubborn to keep pushing the lifetime diff oil line when there is such as easy fix for the problem.

I've changed my diff oil twice Craig. First time I changed it when I had my LSD installed and then about 5000 km's later after it was broken in (2000km done on a roadtrip). It looked black and nasty when I changed it, either the workshop didn't use the oil I supplied them with or it's just a result from driving. I did it for peace of mind though and Redline states that it's good for 4 years or 200,000km's on the bottle.

It's all good. I wore eyeliner to school every day in year 12, there's not a lot of teasing I hear that I haven't heard before ;-)

Dare to post a pic of your year 12 days Kenny or should I be scared? I accept each individual as they are and treat everyone equally. I don't judge people in any way. I use lip gloss occasionally (is that the same).
