Rally stripes

Thinking of rally stripes. I never have seen this motif on any 1er in the USA.
I'm going to the Vintage this month, driving my 128i and need some swagger.

I've never understood the point of those hood fins, but I kind of want them.
St|g has those stripes, but the whole decal is black. You can get them in black or white. I'm assuming the Tii concept used both.

Personally I like these:

The Stig does have them stripes.

I was thinking of just putting it on my roof only...I don't have a sunroof so it should be an easy install.

BMW e9 3.0CSL race car had hood fins. Crazy Motorsport engineers.

I took this picture last weekend at Road Atlanta, at the Mitty event. See the hood fins?

This is something I'm considering at some point......in flat black (my car is black sapphire metallic). Something subtle but aggressive at the same time. I say go for it if you want.

Hmm, flat black stripes on BSM. That sounds very interesting.

I was thinming the same thing with my car... flat black against my carbon black metallic. My thought was the same - subtle but agressive. I have been in the market to purchase them for nearly 6 months, but every site I have visited has them on back order.

I have a Sapphire Black 135 and have been seriously thinking about doing one thick and one thin stripe using black or gunmetal plasti-dip. Problem is I don't know if I want to leave it matte or put a couple coats of glossifier on it. Has anyone done this? Pictures?

I have the BMW Performance side stripes on my car. Personally I've only ever seen them on white 1ers.

Are those the genuine BMW front splitters, or did you find an alternative?

They are genuine BMW Performance front splitters, and thankfully, they came with the car! As they are damn expensive lol.

Sorry to highjack, but what are you lowered on? Also, can you share wheel/tire specs? Car looks awesome!

Ok, you are not the first person to ask me what my 135i is lowered on, and this leads me to believe something is not stock here, because AFAIK, it is not lowered. There is a lot of BMW Performance parts on this car from factory, so the springs may be of that nature. It does appear to have a smaller arch gap than most M Sports

As for the wheel/tyre spec, they are as follows:-

BM Autosport 19" CS Style. Front 8J x ET47, Rear 8.5J x ET37
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric II 225/35/19 & Yokohama V103 Advan Sport 245/30/19
Rear arches have been rolled/flared

I have the aero kit as well but bummed the previous owner didn't splurge for the splitters... or they were stolen. Luckily they did on the rear splitter, carbon interior trim, exhaust and performance wheels.
