Do these come with new carrier bearings, or are the cores low enough mileage that you can press them off, inspect, and reuse?

Everything is thoroughly inspected before the re-assembly. There is no new bearings available from BMW or the manufacutre(will sell to BMW only).

Does wavetrac have an LSD to fit the DCT? I understand that quaife has one - in fact you have one for sale on a separate thread - but I'd prefer a wavetrac or os giken. Very interested as this car has very limited performance with its ridiculous open differential.

Thanks
Tim

No, not Wavetrac.

It has to be a Quaife of a custom clutch type LSD. Either way you are looking at around $4600.

I'm a little green when it comes to these things. If we take pricing and the refundable core out of the equation, which one is more advantageous and why?

Thanks

Garage List

Wavetrac 3.08

Is that the current price ? Does the unit need "brake in" after installation and do you have them in stock ? Is the warrenty still 12 months?

LSD Installation

I live in SF area, but I am considering driving down and getting a Wavetec LSD installed in my 08 6-speed 135i. Can you complete the installation in 1 day?

Yes, we can. For 6-speed 135i, we will be installing an complete 3.08 Wavetrac FD unit. You are looking at 3 hours of labor at $120 an hour, plus $30 for Redline gear oil

Harold,

Is this price still good?

3.08 gearing built from a low mileage core. Fits all manual 135i/335i's to date.

$1995 + $1000(refundable core charge) + Freight. ***This unit is in stock***

Freight is $95 to the 48 States.

Yes, it is! However, it's not in stock as there is a short wait. Pay in full is the only way we can guarantee you are next in line for one in 2-3 weeks.

Harold
How much time do I have to return my core for the core-refund?
It might take me a few weeks to get the time to install.
Thanks

Why would one get the 3.08 vs. the 3.46? And vice-versa?

Thanks,

Thanks,
You can upgrade 6 MT with the 3.08 to 3.46 for quicker accelerations(mainly for extreme street or track use), but not the other way around for the automatics(3.46) to down grade to 3.08.

Around 3 weeks. Machine shop work is holding up most of the orders.

So humor me, I have been trying to follow the pricing in this thread. What would it cost out the door if I drove up to HPA and wanted the 3.08 geared Wavetrac installed in my (welded) 135i 6MT? Looks like $360 labor + $30 gear oil + $1995 diff (including core exchange) + tax on diff = $2385 + tax?

The Redline gear oil is a couple of dollars more now, but that is what you will be looking at. There is not tax on labor.
