Oudtshoorn is a remote town in South Africa.

Sick. I wish all turbo haters here in the states would stop fueling rumors of a non turbo 335. Stupidest idea I've ever heard. Thanks for sharing dude!

Those are sedans in those pics... I've heard of no mention of a 335 sedan... Looks like a custom exhaust on a 330 to me...

There have been numerous spy shots of sedan test mules with the split dual exhaust (these cars also have a visible intercooler and in some cases diagnostic equipment in the front as well) in several parts of the world. It's not a custom exhaust - it is THE 335i - and there will, of course, be a sedan version.

Are you saying there's been no "official" mention? Because almost ALL the rumors have been saying that the 335 will start with the coupe and be followed by the 335 sedan in late '06.

That's why the 330 buyers have been in an uproar with the rumors that their model would be scrapped in only a year.

have we been tricked? could it be a custom exhaust pipe mod on a 330i by some guys to get us e90 fans all worked up and excited? guess we should all not jump to conclusions untill bmw germany declares formally the existence of a 335i.

Really? The idea of the turbo(s) turns me off.

BTW, look at the first pic, does the kindey look different or is it my poor vision playing tricks on me?

Thanks BeeEm for sharing. Even with the early pictures of the E90 back in 2004, people took some time to believe that those were real.

Another thing to note is that all E90's sold in South Africa are right-handed. The cars in the pictures are left-handed.... therefore, these can't be cars modded by some dude in the street.... they must be real test cars.

I'm just being the Devil's advocate here.... If these cars are test mules, wouldn't they want to keep a low profile on them by NOT putting custom pipes out the back?

maybe because the engine needs a more free-flowing exhaust to make sure it operates reliably ?

I think the 335i is definately going to happen in both the coupe and sedan...but I am starting to doubt if it is going to come to the states. I can only hope it does. By the way this is only my personal opinion from reading around on the web.

Some background information to all non-South Africans - due to its remoteness and isolated nature, Oudtshoorn is often used to test new models, by all manufacturers, local and foreign. BMW is known to have often used Oudtshoorn for such tests.

I would think there is a good chance these pictures are genuine from these posters, considering the remarks by thrill30.

Munich plates and left hand drive steering in South Africa means that they are indeed mules.

Also the first 335i muels seen were all sedans

They have to test the production exhaust

Holy crap, I have seen one over here too! It didnt dawn on me at first that something was up. I was behind it so thought it was another debadged 325/330 (there are tons here) until we both gunned it on the Autobahn and had a lil bit of a prob catching it with my 330i

For all I know though could have just been a 325/330 with some mods/turbo to give it that edge.

E90Fleet...you need to organise me onto the BMW SA test driving team.

Every so often, they can give me a car to test "in real conditions" and I will give them a full million page report :-)

i would love a 335i...but the price is gonna B too high
