18 inch on a base 128i

Hey guys, I have a base 128i with the 17 inch rims. If I was to install the 18s that come on the 128i sport would it like strange on my car? What I mean is are the two cars at the same ride height? Will I have to lower the car? I don't wanna install them and have my car look like an SUV with massive wheel gap. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance.

I don't think it would look strange as some 128i's comes with 18" wheels as well. And it actually might reduce the wheel gap because the tires would get bigger? I think.

So the base 128i has the exact same suspension set up as the 128i sport then eh?

nope. sport and msport are slightly lower with more high spring rates. stock 128i suspension is floppier and taller.

edit: and 19's would fit too as long as the overall diameter of the wheel+tire is the same as stock. Make sure you research the correct offsets as well. 19's look too big and bling IMO but to each their own.
