Is it just me, or is TG doing less and less car reviews lately. Sometimes only doing one an episode! Wasting more and more time trying to be funny.
Don't get me wrong, they are funny, but I think the latest series is trying too hard on the jokes and the content is lacking... thoughts? |

I only said to my wife the other day that TG series 14 seems to be a bit lame. Looks like I'm not the only one!
This week's episode with the art gallery was amusing in parts but in general pretty lame IMHO.

I'm making a point to watch Fifth Gear on Discovery Turbo now.
More shows, better reviews and a much more 'enthusiast' and bipartisan look at cars. And not just "OMG LAMBORGHINI" or "LOLOLOLOL IM HAMMERING A BUGATTI".. It's your standard stuff that most of us want to see: such as GTI vs. 130i. Fifth Gear is great - they match the perfect weighting of proper, accurate car reviews with humour. |

Problem is that they out of 45mins of show, there is only 5 mins of cars and 30mins of lols...
Love Fifth gear too! But pretty sure they have stopped it? |

I think TG's great: never really thought of it as something I watch for any factual information.
More like a comedy revolving around cars. It's awesome at achieving that purpose.

I havent been heavily into Fifth Gear until about a month ago when Discovery Turbo was launched. I absolutely love it!
The humour isn't over the top and they take the car reviews seriously. Plus, it's aimed at cars people can commonly buy. |

Love top gear, even the missus who does not care much for cars enjoys the show. Whatever happened to the lame Aussie top gear? Seems like they had 2 episodes and was so poor that the plug was pulled el prompto?

x5mad, Aussie top gear (ad UK) has been bought by Channel 9 and supposedly will have a new season next year.
I too think it was average, but it was still better than any other Australian car show I have seen. Top Gear was pretty average when it first began too... I just hope they both learn lessons and listen to the fans a bit next season! |

I have been following Top Gear ever since I was stationed in Germany and picked it up on satellite. Now I just download the episodes and I must agree with most here about how Season 14 has been going. I hope it picks up a bit.
BTW, here is the executive producer's stance on all the criticism that TG is taking right now: http://transmission.blogs.topgear.co...where-were-at/ |

Well I hope it's better than the last time they were here which was a disapointment to me. Too much time spent on promoting the sponsors before the show actually got going. Four 'live' adds that took forever to the point where some guy in the audience yelled out "get on with it."
James May was not there either so Steve Pizzati from TG Australia replaced him and he was useless and totally out of his comfort zone. Not enough comedy. The music was very loud, but when you are trying to muffle the sound of "fake" Ferraris, I guess that's what you have to do. Overall I felt ripped off...
