Yes, if you can't up your octane (i.e. 102 or E85) then keep it on Map 2.

You can start off with a 25/75 mix of E85/93 and see how your car likes it on Map 5. Make sure you have flex fuel wires from BMS if you're an N55.

Once logging and tuning is done, if you like it, and want to push more, you can mix 50/50 and go to Map 7, rinse and repeat.

Edited after I read the whole thread...

I'm assuming you're going to have to wait to run E85 until you switch tunes. If you want to drive a car with JB4 and E85, give me a shout. Granted it's an N54 but you'll get the idea.

As for percentages...it's best to start at about 25% (when you're ready) and work your way up from there based on how the fuel delivery system and your car handles it. You're really going to want the ability to log as well.

PM me if you'd like to discuss this more.

+1 My first dyno run with the old JB4 back in 2011 no other options. 362whp with 93 octane.

Were you running AZ 91 octane swill on that first dyno run? If so then I think those numbers looked pretty good.

For a low reading dyno like that, I think your numbers are in line with what they should be, imho.

Yes, was running 91. I was actually surprised with the run with it only being the PPK-1 factory tune and bolt ons. Can't wait to get the JB4 wired in and try again. I know it may not bump the peak numbers up too much higher, but the power under the curve and lower in the rpm range will be pretty dramatic. At least from what i have seen from other dyno runs that people have posted.

I think you are going to be overly surprised with your gains with a tune of any sort. I truly think you will pick up an extra 80-110 WHP/TQ considering your bolt ons.

Edit: Just realized its an N54. You will probably pick up 40-50ish on 93 and likely break 400 with an E85 blend.

Also added a digital guage from P3cars last weekend, so it will be interesting to track the changes to boost levels by map.

I would expect a big jump with the tune since you already have everything you need to support it

ISO? Assuming you did get the flex fuel wires too?

Who are you talking to? My post in which I was refering to my car may have been confusing. OP is running an N55 and has no access to 93. 80-110? are you talking about whp over stock or his last numbers of 329? The later...not likely and over >400whp? That is pretty optimistic unless he gets it dialed and is running high percentages of e85.

I didn't see an option for the ISO so I am assuming it is standard with newest version? Haven't done a tremendous amount of research. I didn't get the flex fuel wires........yet.

G5 is the newest version; if you want a G5/ISO tell them when you order. If you don't the G5 can be converted to an ISO board by cutting off two resistors.

This...and uploading the ISO firmware. Get the flexwires...cheapest upgrade you'll do! $25 and I hope you got the USB cable....if not...GET IT also....$30

Just checked....looks like they are shipping as ISO, but verify when you get it.

Found the directions to modify the board. So I just have to check to see if it matches the after configuration on the directions. Got the USB.

Nice job...not a big deal either way then..you're set minus the flex fuel wires...DO IT! Seriously, the difference between running our 91 crap and running e85.....the car feels like a turd when running 91...no lie! With our 91, you just can't get and maintain the timing. E85 also lowers egts...It 's either that or meth...or both.

I run a 93/100 mix but passing emails back & forth with Terry during alpha testing of the G5/ISO he recommended a max of 40% alcohol if you were mixing with E85.

When figuring out your mix at the pump its important to remember that 91 or 93 already has 10% alcohol so do the mix calculation against 30% E85.

This really doesn't need to be that confusing. If you run E85, start with 3 gallons or approx. 25% ethanol to a full tank, take logs and see how everything responds. Good? Move up to 4 gallons and repeat. Good? Move up to 5 gallons and repeat. I personally wait until I'm at about 1/8 tank and do 5 gallons E85 and 7.5 gallons of 91. Simple as that, no need to get your scientific calculator out and start crunching a bunch of algebraic equations.

Alright.......have everything i need to do the install....JB4, flexfuel wires, USB (Will do ISO mods prior to installation). Anything that those of you who have installed this before have found to be issues doing the installation? It seems pretty straight forward but I figured i would ask.

Awesome...just follow the directions closely...it's not hard.

However, before starting the install, unlock the doors, open the hood, and open your trunk. Place a towel over the latch mechanism on the trunk so you don't close it. Take a 10mm socket and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and tuck it to the side. This will help ensure you don't have any electrical problems with the install as well as reset the DME adaptions so that you start fresh after the install.

After install, reconnect the battery, don't start the car, plug in computer, turn on the ignition, connect, and update to the newest ISO hex. Make sure you also select the n55 iso option in your computers software. All stuff I'm sure you know already.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Have the JB4 install done. Took abut to locate the flex fuel harness. Once I found the fuel rail, I found the harness (duh). Once I got all of the hex files uploaded it is running like a beast. Have 3.5 gallons E85 and rest 91. I can tell the Traction control doesn't know what to do. Going to give it a few WOT runs tomorrow without it. Thanks for all the pointers. Can't wait to get it back on the dyno.
