Lock Actuator
Has anyone here replaced their door actuator? I tried it today and it it all disconnected, only to find I can't get it out due to the window guide being in the way.
The interwebs has a heap of DIY on 3 series but nothing on 1 Series and it looks like the doors are slightly different. Can anyone shed some light on how to get the actuator out?

No one has had to do this? From what I hear, it's a pretty common problem.

I've never had to do this on a BMW, but it is common that the window glass may need to be removed in order to move the window slide to gain access for the actuator.

I think mine is going as well - few tell tale signs like a difficult to open door from the inside when the door is locked. Very surprised though, the car has only done 45k. The e46 lasted 150/160k. If you get instructions / make a DIY please do post.
Maybe sign up for BMWTIS (?name) for a day (~$30) and get the official instructions? Perhaps a trusted mechanic might have access to the database already and can print the details for you.
