Boost

My docs reads that I have "boost pressure/overboost 0.6". What is boost andwhatdoes 0.6 mean? All help appreciated.

Boost pressure is the amount that the turbo(s) pressurize the intake charge. Simply put w/o getting too technical, the more pressure, the more power.
Most of Europe uses different designations than the US in factoring boost pressure. They use 'bar'(barometric pressure) or atm(like SCUBA). 1 bar or atm is equal to 14.7 psi. .6 bar works out to 8.8 psi.
Your car makes a full boost pressure of 8.8 lbs per sq inch.

WOW! Thanks for the very valuable information. At least valuable to me. I hate being in the dark in certain areas. I worked on cars in the 50's but nothing with the new generations and I would like to know more about how my car works. Thanks again.
