Issues with lowering 135i
Not too long ago I lowered my 135i vert and got a DSC and DBC malfunction and got the Active steering malfunction. I used H&R sport springs and it came out looking very good and maybe it was a little too low but still it cleaned up the wheel wells. After I installed them I drove about 5 miles and got the AS fault first which eventually went away and then i made a right turn and got the DSC and DBC faults which stayed. I waited about a week to see if they went away but the faults would pop up everytime i started my ride. So i decided to put the old ones back in and took a drive and the faults went away--go figure! I want to put them back in but I really don't want to waste my time again. So i am not sure if it is a vert thing or an AS thing. Any thoughts to those who lowered there cars and have AS or a vert? Thanks for the inputs.

Weird. I have had my H&R sport springs installed for a month and no warnings have popped up. Maybe bad install? Get your money back and go somewhere else.

Are the H&R springs specific for the vert? I think the coupe springs are different as the BMW performance suspension is not available for the convertible. I am not sure if the difference is just the spring rate or the shape of the springs.

No issues here with lowering. I have the KW V2 coilovers. They are night and day improvement over stock!
Only thought, did you accidently bump or misallign the suspension load sensors? The ones that measure vehicle angle and yaw? One on the front left and right rear if I recall. |

as far as the install, i did them myself. i figured i fix airplanes than i can do this task. its no problem doing them but i just wanted input as if anyone else has had this. someone who might have active steering or may have a vert. also the H&R sport springs have the same part number no matter if its a coupe, convertible or a 135 or a 128-- its all the same per tire rack and H&R. i still want to do it but i thought i'd ask first.

Well I installed the springs and got the active steering inactive fault as soon as I started the car. It took about 5 minutes for it to go active and the fault went away. I drove it about 5 miles and got nothing. So i hope that this doesn't happen again.
