90 MPH in a car you have had for less than a day? Come on. Lucky you didn't roll it since you don't know how it handles yet.
As for the stock vs mods coverage, you will get $$ to replace a front bumper with a STOCK front bumper. You can take that money and buy the 1M front, but they will pay out everything like it was stock parts. If you don't fight them hard, they will probably try to pay out stock AFTERMARKET parts, aka cheap non-oem OEM styles. Good luck and take it easy next time. Get used to the car before you go pushing it. |

90mph is nothing on the interstate. Don't be a prick.
OP: at least you don't have a super nice FMIC, that could have set you back. This looks more or less purely cosmetic. Get it fixed up and show us the new pics!

This isn't my first high performance car either and also keep in mind I had been driving 400 miles prior to the accident. Negativity aside, I am anticipating compensation for stock OEM parts but plan on advising the body shop to order the original aftermarket parts. The insurance adjuster contacted me today and gave me the OK to take it to a body shop. I plan on dropping it off either today or tomorrow. Will update whenever I know more. |

Can't use the highbeam when there's a line of traffic coming at you. Its not that bright. No one has ever flashed there lights at me and its only when going over hills. Using the highbeam would be inconsiderate. I think adjusting them up to where I can see to safely drive the speed limit and not hold up traffic or try to swerve because I couldn't see something on the road and possibly endanger someone else is extremely considerate. I adjusted 5 times and drove after each time to make it the perfect point where it was lighting the road but not constantly in people's faces. Again. Very considerate. Still probably does bother some. But it's just for a second.

Sorry about your car OP. That is a nightmare but it will get fixed.
Out of curiosity, do you know who makes the 1M replica bumper? It looks like a nice one. |

Sorry about the car!
I definitely feel your pain. I did the exact same thing with my first 1er. Bought it out of state and had a 15 hour drive home. Made it to 1 hour away and a deer jumped right out infront of me. Hit the deer, went into the shoulder, and it totaled the car. Yours looks a lot better than mine did after it though and at least your ok! Hopefully its fixed soon |

I do go above the speed limit but when it comes to night driving, I'll do the limit or maybe a couple over. Driving the back roads where I'm from in GA at 55 makes it difficult to avoid the deer that decided to cross into the road. Live and learn, thats how life is. Sorry to hear about this and heres to hoping there is a lot of damage on the under carriage. |

Quick body shop estimate (non-lifted). They will probably find more to fix once its up in the air.
edit: this is good because the aftermarket aesthetics are much cheaper. Last edited by tmillerx8; 05-04-2015 at 11:06 PM.. |

i didn't know the deductible amount at the time so they left it blank but it's either 500 or 1,000. Don't worry it's not free trust me. However they said that if the aftermarket parts are less than OEM then the difference could go towards the deductible

Sorry to hear this. I had a run in with a tire retread from a tractor trailer that I hit on a dark and rainy night. It didn't do near the damage, but I was so upset, and still have a mark in my front fascia as a result.
Good luck with the repairs. I guess the bright side is that the deer could have been alive and standing when this happened. I've seen that happen and it's not pretty for the deer or the car. |

Always do this. Usually, if you hit a stationary object, they consider it your fault. If the object is moving, it's not your fault.

I recently had the same thing happen (dead dog). I got 3 estimates from the best shops in town. The insurance estimator's estimate was higher than all three! He cut me a check, I ordered the parts at a fraction of the dealer prices. For example, ECS has a Bremmen belly pan for $80 that's identical to OEM and I ordered my M sport front bumper from a good ebay seller, europartsautostore. I may or may not have had money left over.

Have to agree. Real sorry to hear about this, but that kind of speed in deer country with poor visibility is like playing Russian roulette. How fast were you going when you saw the deer? Were you able to brake at all? Not criticizing because I've done far worse but was a lot luckier. Back in my reckless days I was piloting my buddy's vette down a stretch of straight two lane black top in rural Iowa at 3 AM during deer season at, er, excessive speed. Wanted to see if I could crack 150 and did. Stupid doesn't even come close. As you might imagine, alcohol was involved. But God protected the drunken that night and we got home unscathed. I've never done anything like that again. Hope you get your baby fixed up right as rain. Beautiful car.
