How do I get the ID code for a dash code error?
I'm getting the dash icon below when starting the car. I checked all my lights and everything seems to be working properly. How do I know which specific ID it's complaining about?

Here's the icon I'm getting. If I stop and restart the car the error will usually go away. Can't figure out which specific bulb it's indicating.

This might be silly questions .... but when you look at each of them, are all or none working? Did you change a bulb?

do you have iDrive? cause if I remember correctly when the fault came up on the dash if you go the fault section under vehicle info, it shows which light (tail headlight or break lights that sort of thing). Also if I'm not mistaken sometimes it will show the error when the bulb is on its way out, so it might actually mean that you will have a light go out soon and be ready.

Mine illuminates randomly. It turns out it's one of the 'flash to pass' lights, or rather the two lights inside of the headlights. Also check license plate lights and side blinkers maybe.

At least I'm not the only one. I didn't think about checking the license plate lights, I'll look into that. Yep, checked the side markers.

Now one of my (passenger side) rear tail light LED strips has gone belly-up and the tail light it is in for replacement on 27 Dec under warranty ... so back go the original bulbs LOL. I just know the driver's side is about to go, but because they don't show up as faults in the CanBus system the dealer will say 'No! it is fine!'. So, I can't do that video for you until later next week. If they blow again, I will get the Blackline LCI updates like yours out of Germany.

Some dimwit answered the phone at the 'official' dealer where the car came from when new and said: 'Just drop on by and we'll change a bulb!'. I tried to tell him that the whole tail light needs to be replaced, and he said: 'I have pulled up you car details, and not on that model'. I think I know what we was really pulling LOL. A later call to the service manager confirmed the situation and got me a booking.

Ok, so to answer the original reason I posted this thread - to get the dash error code simply hold down the BC button on the end of the left hand stalk when the dash icon is on-screen. I'm getting CC-ID 415 which indicates increased battery discharge. Leads me to believe my battery is indeed having issues. I have an amplifier and last time I took it in for service the tech noted that I have an aftermarket stereo. Hopefully they don't blame that.
I'm also getting CC-ID 381. Seems to be turn signals/side lights and DRL. Decipher CC-ID codes here http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/attachment...ID_Numbers.pdf |
