JB4 All maps 10psi, in and out of limp mode.
08 135i FBO, JB4 G5 ISO
During some recent spirited driving my car went into limp mode (4.5 psi) but didn't throw any codes. I thought it could have been a boost leak. I checked all connections an all seemed fine. Started the car an it threw codes: 2ABC ; 3100. They went off but car was still in limp mode. I was hearing a rattling sound so I removed cats with N55 midpipe thinking maybe they got clogged. Cleaned all the Tmap sensors (they look good). Checked jb4 connections disconnected an re-connected (with battery unplugged). Now the car seems to be out of limp mode but has bad throttle response an wont spool until like 4500 rpm and its reaching a max 10.2 psi in spikes. on maps 1, 2 and 5. Its not backfiring or running rough just not making power an its lagging. No check engine lights. Any help or suggestions? I checked all my wire connections an for boost leaks. Not sure what to do next? Here is the log:jb4.pdf Last edited by joelcn91; 04-04-2015 at 07:16 PM.. |

I also updated the jb4 g5 iso firmware to 28.7 it had no effect. I messed with the wastegate position an I can hear the rattling even when it is set to 0. It almost feels as though only one turbo is making boost.
I ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have spent 3 days trying to figure it out. |

Assuming when you say "FBO" you mean downpipes; Check the positioning of the downpipe V-band clamps. One of the wastegate solenoid controllers (the rear) may be being impeded by the positioning of the clamps, and not allowing the wastegate to close. This is a common problem with the install of downpipes, but it usually throws a 30FF code. The other thing you may consider is a Vanos solenoid issue. Sticky Vanos may cause the car to feel like that, but again, usually throws a 2A87.
Edit: the above log needs to be in a datazap format for us to make sense of it.
