New member saying hi

Hello everyone. I am a brand new member here and wanted to introduce myself. From my short time browsing this forum, you guys seem to be some very helpful and nice folks so I look forward to chatting with you all.

I just ordered a 2006 325xi Sports Wagon through BMW Military Sales here in Germany. They are very open with their pricing because the cost is pre-negotiated for service members, and there is no haggling involved so it was a good buying experience. They said it should be built and ready in December. If anyone's interested in this sort of thing, here are the options and pricing:

$30300 = 325xiT 6-spd
$475 = Sparkling grahite
$500 = Heated front seats
$350 = Park distance control
$800 = Xenon headlights
$1800 = Navigation system
---------------------------------
$34225 + $265 Delivery = $34490

Since it hasn't been built yet, I can add and remove options as I please. Any suggestions?

Well, I really just wanted to say hi so, it's nice to meet you!

Nice, can't wait for pics.
I think the E91 is the best looking wagon out today, but I may be partial.

I concur! I didn't know you were in the US military...I thought you meant Germany's BMW military program (I thought you were German with great English!). But anyway, yeah I have to thank you too for your service.

Unless you don't know how to park, go for CA!

And if you can swing it, go for the 330i.

Welcome!

Seems you covered everything but I would add Sports Package to the options list as well (that's just me)

Thanks to everybody for your kind words and helpful suggestions. I'll be sure to post pics in the future when I can. They have some gorgeous roads with twisties through the countryside here. For example, this is at the bottom of Frankenstein castle. And yes, if anyone noticed, I am missing a wheel cap =)

Nikki and theclay - I've developed something of a "wagon fetish", so the xiT is a dream come true. Love your 330's though!

afocoryw20, BMRAMA, and jomamma - I think I may spring for the CA after all...

LEDZEP, davinet78, puck724, Jay 325Ci - Pleased to meet you!

sharp1183 and E24 - A heartfelt thank you for your support.

That road is begging your car to give it some tires track! haha

I'm just curious are you going to take your ride to Autobahn. (assuming you are living relatively close to it)

Yes coreslogic, I definitely will drive on the Autobahn. Actually, I take it everyday to get to work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the U.S. model electronically limited to 130 or 135 mph? My friends 2005 330xi was unbelievably quiet and smooth at those speeds and aching to go faster.

For Canada model, we got locked around 205-210km/h (forgot which)

So you'll get the car while still in Germany? I'm jealous. Those roads look awful tempting!

E91 DUDE - ? what branch are you in? My father served a long stint in Munich in the Army - Infantry - just prior to Vietnam. He wondered what you're up to and I told him that I'd post the question.

If you get the sports package -- which I highly recommend for other important reasons -- the speed limiter is upped from 130 to 155mph (250kph) with summer tires.

Sports package on the XI is limited to 130mph. DOn't know why. I'm also in Germany and my 330 XI also seems to want to go faster on the autobahn. But I live on a ridge overlooking Heidelberg so I'm up and down those mountian roads every day back and forth to work.

Not fast, by autobahn standards, but a whole lot of fun!

E24 - I'm in the Navy. We're a small group of enlisted Sailors working with support from a local Army Garrison here. We get the regular "Where's your ship?" or "There's no ocean around here" comments, but its all in good fun. To answer your question, I am a computer technician, and I do maintenance on communication equipment.
